Weight loss and gut health with almonds

Posted on November 16, 2022

If you just want a treat in between meals, almonds are a good choice, as they are known to have thousands of benefits. Many people don’t like them because they taste a bit bitter, but they have a lot of benefits, not only for keeping the gut healthy, but also for helping us lose weight. We’ll show you what else almonds are good for.

Almonds are also extremely rich in healthy fats, which provide the body with lots of energy. A lot of research has been done on almonds, and the research shows that almonds can also be a great aid to weight loss. If you eat almonds between meals, rather than desserts and sweets, you can even lose weight as almonds are a rich source of fibre. The fibre fills us up quickly and easily, so we don’t feel so hungry at the next meal, we eat less food on our plate, so we eat less and we lose weight.

Almonds protect the heart in several ways. Regular consumption can reduce blood fat levels, high blood pressure and even help maintain a healthy vascular system. Regular consumption of almonds can reduce bad cholesterol, or LDL cholesterol, while helping to increase HDL cholesterol, also known as good cholesterol.

Almonds are a rich source of fibre and this positive feature also contributes greatly to gut health. Almond has been shown to have prebiotic effects, which means it significantly increases the number of beneficial bacteria, which in turn restores the balance of the gut flora. If our gut flora is balanced, we will have no problems with digestion.

If you want to increase the amount of antioxidants in your body, all you have to do is eat enough almonds, which are a rich source of vitamin E, known to have powerful antioxidant effects, as well as vitamin C, or ascorbic acid as it is more commonly known.

Almonds are not only high in fibre and vitamin E, but also in unsaturated fats, manganese, vitamin B2 and phosphorus.
