The thousands of benefits of coconut oil

Posted on November 16, 2022

There are so many health benefits of coconut oil. In recent years, it has taken a back seat, but it does have positive health benefits. Research has shown that it is good for the heart, helps the thyroid and endocrine system to function properly and has a prominent role in increasing metabolism. We show you what else coconut oil is good for and why you should consume it regularly.

Coconut oil contains lauric acid and vitamin E, as it has strong antimicrobial, antiviral and antibacterial properties, effectively killing microorganisms that have entered the body. This makes it very effective against infections caused by herpes or the flu virus, candida fungus and bacteria.

Coconut oil can also improve brain function. This claim may be especially true for someone suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. It reduces hunger, promotes fat burning and contributes to weight loss. The beneficial effects of coconut oil include speeding up the metabolism, increasing energy levels in the body and reducing the production of fat.

Virgin coconut oil can also be used for various skin conditions. These include dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and rosacea. As it also contains plenty of vitamin E, a great antioxidant vitamin, it cleanses and moisturises the face wonderfully.

Virgin coconut oil also nourishes the scalp, so it can also give hair a natural glow. It can also prevent scalp dandruff and hair loss, while being very effective against bacterial, viral and fungal infections affecting the scalp.

It is full of antioxidants, giving the body extra protection against the destructive effects of free radicals. As it is rich in vitamins C and E, it can be effective in slowing down the ageing process.

Virgin coconut oil can help prevent tooth decay and gum disease. It improves the absorption of calcium, helping to maintain healthy teeth. It can also be used to make mouthwash to kill bacteria that can cause gum disease. Virgin coconut oil can even be used to make a massage cream, which is good for soothing aching muscles.
