Type 2 diabetes is a chronic disease associated with high blood sugar levels. Many people worldwide suffer from this disease, many without even knowing it. Most of them just feel sick a lot, but because they don’t go for a lab test, they don’t even know they have the disease.

There are many warning signs of this civilisation disease, such as frequent urination, especially if it typically occurs at night.

Another leading symptom of type 2 diabetes is frequent fungal infections and urinary problems. Unwanted weight loss for no good reason, frequent and persistent fatigue and tiredness also add to the range of symptoms. Discolouration of the skin, especially around the neck and under the arms, may also indicate diabetes, and worsening eyesight may also be symptomatic.

If you are familiar with these symptoms and you also have a sedentary lifestyle, weight problems, a family history of the condition or high triglyceride levels, it is worth getting a lab test. Even if there is nothing wrong, i.e. no evidence of diabetes, it is important to change your lifestyle as soon as possible to avoid developing the disease.

Chronic diseases are not so easy to manage, which is why the focus should be on prevention. It is worth avoiding this disease if only because diabetes can shorten life by up to 10 years.

Like many chronic diseases, type 2 diabetes is strongly linked to poor lifestyle and lifestyle choices. However, by making changes to our daily routine, it is possible to avoid type 2 diabetes.

What can we do? Get regular exercise, avoid sitting for too long, get up and move around every hour at work, walk and exercise. It is essential to maintain your ideal body weight. But you also need to watch what you eat, cut down on processed foods and sugary foods, and eat as many vegetables and fruit as possible.
