What to do when stress makes your stomach hurt?

Stomach pain can be caused by several things. It can be triggered by viral infections, acid reflux or stomach ulcers.

You can also get stomach pain from drinking too much alcohol, but you can also get stomach pain from gastritis, heart attacks, stress and food poisoning.

When your stomach hurts, pain is usually not the only complaint or symptom. In addition to pain, you may also experience vomiting, headache, nausea, chills, fever, abdominal pain and other aches and pains.

There are simple and inexpensive ways to reduce and eliminate stomach pain at home.

One of the best methods and practices to get rid of stomach pain is baking soda. How to use it? Mix half a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water and drink it. Bicarbonate of soda can significantly reduce the pressure in the stomach and can also reduce the acidity of the stomach.

The other goody is a fruit, which can go a long way in relieving stomach pain. Papaya contains an enzyme called papain. This enzyme helps the stomach break down proteins and also soothes a queasy stomach. It is also very good for digestion, as it is full of valuable fibre and reduces the chance of constipation.

Not only papaya, but other fibre-rich foods can also help to soothe stomach pain, such as wholegrains, seeds, nuts, vegetables and fruit.

Raw honey can also be beneficial for the stomach, as honey is also a rich source of various enzymes that help soothe the stomach. How to consume it? Mix a teaspoon of honey in 2 dl of warm water and drink it. You can drink it several times a day.

Several herbs can be used as digestive aids and to soothe nausea, such as ginger, fennel, coriander and cardamom. These spices and herbs can aid digestion and also soothe vomiting and nausea.
