Skin building oils – jojoba, rosehip, olive and coconut

Posted on November 10, 2022

Natural oils have been used for centuries by people not only for hair care but also for skin care. Even in ancient Greece, ‘athletes’ used olive oil to make themselves look shinier and to enhance the appearance of those well-toned muscles. What oils can we use to beautify our skin?

One is coconut oil, which is easily absorbed into the skin and has many health benefits, as it is full of vitamins E and K, and has excellent antifungal and antibacterial properties. Coconut oil can be used for skin care by all but those with oily skin, as it is a great moisturiser.

Extra virgin olive oil contains all the antioxidant vitamins, including vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin K and vitamin E. As it has excellent moisturising properties, it is recommended for dry and dehydrated skin.

Shea butter also has a positive effect on hair and skin. It is best to use unrefined, organic shea butter as it has a beneficial effect on the skin and hair. It can also be used in combination with other oils, such as olive oil and coconut oil.

Jojoba oil is also very beneficial for the skin, as it has anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties.

Almond oil is very rich in vitamin E, zinc, protein and potassium. As it has a much better texture than coconut oil, it can be used safely on the skin of the face. However, those with sensitive skin should not experiment with it as it can cause allergic reactions.

Grapeseed oil contains vitamin E and essential fatty acids, and also has outstanding antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It contains several antioxidant compounds, all of which have a positive effect on human skin.

Natural oils are becoming increasingly popular these days. Rosehip oil tops the list. It is unbeatable not only for skin care but also for hair care. What is the secret of this oil? Perhaps it’s that it contains high levels of essential fatty acids and antioxidants, providing great protection against inflammation and skin damage caused by oxidative stress.
