Posted on November 10, 2022

Most people are very fond of sweets, desserts and cakes. But these sugary foods are not only bad for your weight, they can also be the cause of many diseases. Too much sugar can be a cause of type 2 diabetes, but scientific research shows that it can also be addictive. It has an addictive effect just like drugs.

Sugar can also cause depressive symptoms, but the withdrawal symptoms themselves can also cause depression. That is why it is a good idea to look for other sweet alternatives. It’s not easy to give up sugar, in fact you don’t have to, it’s enough to drastically reduce your intake and replace the rest of the sugar with other sweets. We’ll show you what they are!

If you’re craving a sweet, eat an apple or a bunch of grapes. These can also help to calm and control our sweet tooth, not to mention that fresh fruit at least contains vitamins and minerals, as opposed to the empty calories in sugar, not to mention its zero nutritional value.

If you’re really feeling down, make apple crisps. While you’re making it, you’re also burning calories, not to mention getting a healthy snack into your system. Apples also contain a lot of nutrients that can protect against heart disease, diabetes and certain digestive diseases.

Cereal is also very healthy, but only the unsweetened kind and only if you eat it with low-fat or vegetable milk.

Yoghurt is very good for us for several reasons. The live-flora version balances the gut flora and because it’s a probiotic, it also protects digestive health. It also contains calcium, which supports bone health.

Dates are sweet, but not as sweet as sugar, and they also contain many nutrients such as vitamin B6, potassium, manganese and fibre. It can also be made into a pulp and used to sweeten coffee, desserts and cakes.
