Foods that protect heart health – Part 1

There are foods on the planet that can literally save lives. Of course, don’t imagine that you can choose one of the foods listed below and never have to worry about your heart health, but the fact is that if you eat these foods regularly, there is a good chance that you will never have to worry about your heart health. Let’s see what these foods are!

If you can, eat fresh herbs and spices regularly, as you can season your food with them and use much less salt.

Black beans are full of nutrients that are also very good for heart health. Folate, magnesium and antioxidants are actively involved in lowering blood pressure. It’s also full of fibre, which can help to control cholesterol and blood sugar levels, both of which are very good for heart health.

Resveratrol-rich grapes are also a good choice if you care about your heart health. Resveratrol is an antioxidant that increases HDL cholesterol levels, also known as good cholesterol. This antioxidant is also found in wine, but wine should be consumed in moderation, while grapes should be eaten in moderation.

Salmon is also known as a superfood, or heart food, because it contains high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, healthy fats that reduce the risk of heart rhythm problems and high blood pressure. It also prevents inflammation and reduces triglyceride levels.

Olive oil from olives is rich in heart-healthy antioxidants that protect blood vessels. It also effectively reduces cholesterol levels.

Swiss chard is a dark green leafy vegetable that contains high amounts of potassium and magnesium. These minerals help to regulate blood pressure. Swiss chard also contains high levels of fibre, vitamin A and antioxidants such as lutein and zeaxanthin.

Barley is rich in fibre, which is effective in reducing high cholesterol levels, and it also has a prominent role in lowering blood sugar levels.
