In older age, pale and darker brown spots, also known as liver spots, can appear on the skin. They most often appear on areas that are exposed to the sun, such as the face or the back of the hands, but can also appear on the neck, shoulders, arms and legs.

These age spots are caused by the sun’s UV rays on the skin, which is why it is very important and useful to use sunscreen all year round. We can make our own ‘mixtures’ that can significantly fade these spots. Here are some of them!

You can also use lemon juice to reduce age spots. Lemon juice is a rich source of citric acid, which has great antioxidant effects. Nowadays, you can also buy a lot of face creams that also contain citric acid to fade these very liver spots. How do we use citric acid? Squeeze a lemon and soak a cotton ball in it. Gently smear it on the liver spots, leave it on the skin for at least 20 minutes and then wash your skin thoroughly with cold water.

Aloe vera gel can also help to fade age spots. In addition, Aloe vera gel contains active ingredients that slow down the ageing of skin cells, promote the growth of new cells and significantly reduce wrinkles. There are two ways to use Aloe vera gel. You can take it internally twice a day: mix a teaspoonful of gel in a glass and drink it. It is not important to wash it off the skin, as it has nourishing and moisturising properties.

Castor oil is one of the most effective skin care products. Among other things, it stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, moisturises the skin and slows down the formation of wrinkles. How to use it? Dip a cotton pad in castor oil and apply the oil to your face. Leave it on your face overnight, then apply it in the morning with your usual facial routine.
